-Lead Ranch Associate -

Beautiful ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley has an opening for the perfect person to fulfill their dynamic team. This position requires an individual who is hardworking, highly skilled, experienced in ranch operations, and able to thrive both independently and collaboratively. Adaptability and flexibility are a must. The success of this ranch and its operations is based on team efforts and input.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and maintain all aspects of ranch operations, ensuring the property is in excellent condition and operating efficiently.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all the ranch equipment to ensure longevity and performance.

  • Conduct regular inspections of ranch facilities, fencing, irrigation systems, and infrastructure to identify and address issues proactively.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of all property structures

  • Ensure routine servicing and repairs are completed for all vehicles and machinery.

  • Proactively oversee and coordinate groundskeeping, including tree trimming, road maintenance, and erosion control.

  • Coordinate storage and inventory of ranch supplies

  • Coordinate all vendor relationships, serving as the sole point of contact for scheduling, oversight, and performance evaluation.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of landscapers, ensuring all landscaping tasks are completed to the highest standard.

  • Maintaining the property’s appearance, functionality, and overall hospitality standards.

  • Stay within budget for ranch operations and projects.

  • Ensure that all operations align with the owners' vision and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Ranch Experience (min of 2 years required): Proven experience working on/overseeing ranches or similar properties

  • Deep understanding of ranch operations and equipment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using technology for task management and communication.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with English proficiency required. Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred to facilitate communication with staff.

  • History of reliability, integrity, and discretion. Must have impeccable work references.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and address unforeseen challenges effectively.

  • Although rare, must be available for emergencies or unexpected needs.
